women.nyc to encourage you to Ask for More! Women working full time in the United States typically are paid just 82 percent of what men are paid, a gap of 20 percent — and it’s even wider for black women, Latinas and Native women. In New York City women typically earn $6,735 less than their male counterparts every year. Women.nyc is aiming to close that gap by training 10,000 NYC women in salary negotiation, in partnership with the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
