It’s tough to be a leader, a manager, an entrepreneur; it’s even tougher for women.
We still face a playing field that is not always fair, predictable or level, to say the least. From being interrupted when we speak, to getting passed over for a role/promotion, or being undermined in a meeting, to raising money with hundreds of no’s, doors shut in our face, or being held to a higher standard.
So let’s be real and listen to the real stories, UNFILTERED, from leaders, founders, and more on how to survive and thrive in a business world. You will walk away with real advice, new skills and confidence in your business-building, team-managing, leadership abilities.
In this new series, join us for Session 1 with Katie Klumper, Founder and Managing Partner of Black Glass and Shermin Lakha, Managing Attorney and CEO of LVLUP Legal to hear their stories.
About the Speakers:
Katie Klumper is the Founder/ Managing Partner of Black Glass, an agile marketing consultancy to a roster of heavy-hitting clients like BMW. Klumper spent 15 years in advertising and consulting, driving powerful industry change as one of the most underestimated forces in a notoriously competitive field.
Starting from a small town outside of Vancouver, Canada, Klumper built a name for herself by holding strong to a belief in using her voice for the greater good and always betting on herself. In just 7 years, she climbed her way up the ranks to President of KBS (Kirschenbaum, Bond, Senecal & Partners), followed by Partner at Deloitte. A self-described feminist, Klumper faced down gender inequality and more on her way to the top of New York’s marketing and advertising game. Over the course of an award-winning career, she proved women can lead in the business world with both ambition and innovation. When her bold, market-driven solutions were met with red lights or closed doors, she refused to wait for permission, instead betting on herself with a courageous transition to create what is today one of the country's elite marketing firms: Black Glass.
As a mompreneur Klumper’s “sink or swim” attitude and uncanny ability to thrive amid seemingly insurmountable odds have earned her a spot among AdWeeks’ “Top 50 Indispensable Marketing and Media Executives” and Direct Marketing News’ list of “Top 40 Under 40.”
